Rainbow Monthly Calendar in The BLACKOUT Book
Hello friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here today to show you a rainbow monthly calendar spread in the Archer and Olive The BLACKOUT Book! This book is so fun to use and I love drawing with my gel pens on it's black pages!
Materials you'll need:
- Archer and Olive The BLACKOUT Book
- Gel Pens in rainbow colors
- Pencil and eraser
Step 1
The first thing I always do is use my pencil to sketch out my design in my BLACKOUT Book so I know where everything will go!
Step 2
Now that I know where the date boxes will go, I'm going to start drawing them in with my gel pens! Each column of boxes will be one color starting with red and I'll work my way through the rainbow as I go down the columns. I drew in a rectangle on the far right for a notes section.
Step 3
Once the borders dry completely, write in the dates in the upper right corner of each box and write in "Notes" at the top of the far right rectangle.
Step 4
Next, I hand-lettered "September" at the top of the page using faux-calligraphy. Each letter was in a different color of the alphabet. I wrote out each letter and then added thickness to each of the downstrokes of the letters to create a calligraphy effect. Make sure the colors transition well to the next one. Wait until it's completely dry to lightly erase any pencil marks!
Step 5
The last thing I did was draw a rainbow mandala at the bottom middle of the page to add a little extra color! Each circle row was a different color. I love how it adds to the page and completes it!
