Donut Mood Tracker Tutorial

by Adrienne Castleton 03 Jun 2020 0 Comments

Hi friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here to share a tutorial on how to create a donut mood tracker! For theme for my bullet journal this month is rainbows so I’ll be creating a rainbow background for the page as well! Let’s get started!

Materials you’ll need:

Step 1

The first thing I did was create my header and border for the page. I did this using the TwinTone Markers Rainbow Pack and MONO Drawing Pens 02 (for the header shadows) & 08 (for the page border). I left some space on the right side of the page because I like to cut my own tabs, which I’ll show you later!

Step 2

Next, I used the TwinTone Markers to draw a rainbow background for my page by drawing horizontal lines down the page behind the border. This is a super easy technique to create a colorful background for your bullet journal! I also cut my tab on the right side of my page and wrote in the page name.

Step 3

It’s time to start the donuts! I sketched out 31 circles with my MONO Graph Mechanical Pencil to make sure they all got and then I used the MONO Drawing Pen 02 to draw the circles on my page. Then I drew six boxes at the bottom where my key will go. Erase any pencil marks with a MONO Eraser.

Step 4

Time to fill in those donuts! I came up with a few different designs I could use to add detail to the donuts and I varied them as I went down the page. I used the same 02 pen—I love the smaller mono-line pens because you can get great line detail in your drawings!

Step 5

The last step is to decide on the moods you will be using and their associating colors! Use the 1500 Series Colored Pencils to choose the colors you want to use and color in the key! Now as each day goes by, you can color in a donut based on your mood that day! It’s pretty neat to go back through your month at a glance and see how your mood changed!
