Top Back-To-School Spreads for your Bullet Journal
Hi everyone, it’s Delphine (@delphinesjournal) from the Archer And Olive (@archerandolive) ambassador team. If you’re a student, you might be in the process of shopping for a planner or figuring out how to set up your bullet journal. Well, look no further than this blog, where I’ll be sharing five simple spreads to include in your own notebook!
Supplies
- Archer And Olive Notebook
- Fineliners
- Brush pens, like the Calliograph pens
- White gel pen
- Decorative supplies, like washi tape (I used the ones from the Rest And Renew Box)
1. A bold quote page
Starting your notebook with a bold and motivating quote page adds a lot of character to your journal, and it can be a great reminder in times of despair (also known as the exam weeks). This style in particular was inspired by @oraarts. The supplies I used for this spread were a fineliner for outlining the letters and decorations, a black brush pen for filling the letters and a white gel pen to add contrast and details.
If you like this quote page but you’re pressed for time, take a look at the printable below! You can download this quote page and either glue it or trace it in your own notebook.
2. A future log
If you’re going back to school this fall, a future log can help to achieve a global view of all your assignments, presentations, due dates and exams in one place. There are so many ways to arrange this classic spread, but I opted for a horizontal layout this time, inspired by @amandarachlee. Decorations are, as always, optional! If you’re in a hurry to set up your journal for the school year, using a thick washi tape is the quickest way to add interest to your spread.

3. Reminders
When I was in school, I would set up my bullet journal at the beginning of the school year, not in January. Including this spread in your set up will allow you to formulate intentions, whether personal or related to school, but also the things you can do when you need to calm down, or daily reminders to help your mental health. School can definitely be stressful, which is why these reminders might help you when anxiety takes over. By the way, you can totally switch up the categories I listed here!
4. A schedule
This might be the most useful spread of all if you’re going back to school. You can add not only your different classes, but also your work schedule, the time you’re planning to study or gym classes (this is why the time stamps is on the more extensive side). As always, you can personalize it to your own schedule and needs, and you can color code all of these elements!
5. A habit tracker
The last spread I’m recommending you add to your back-to-school bullet journal is a habit tracker focusing on four habits for the entire semester. This spread will actually save you time when setting up your monthly spreads, and it will provide an overview of your habits during school. With this type of layout, you can simply use a colored brush pen to color the square representing the day of the month when you’ve completed the habit.
One last detail I added to the habit tracker is dedicated space to write things to be grateful for and restorative actions. I once again like the idea to have reminders throughout different spreads to take care of yourself. If you like these, you should check out the Self-Care Box Rest and Reset!
