Creating A Quote Page in your Journal

by Content Team 24 Aug 2025 0 Comments

Hello everyone, my name is Keisha from @k.moartsy.journals and for more art and journal inspiration you can find me on Instagram   and TikTok  at that handle. Today we are creating an “quote page” in our journal. I absolutely love inspirational quotes about nature, scriptures and quotes from my favorite books, so I thought it would be a fun idea to create a space in my journal dedicated to that. In this blog I will be sharing what a quote page is, what tools I use to create it, and how I designed the page.

  • Archer & Olive notebook (choose the size of your preference)
  • Medium of choice (watercolor, colored pencils, and or markers).

What is a “Quote page” ?

A quote page in a journal is a dedicated space where the creator can write down meaningful quotes and or excerpts that are special to them. Some places to find memorable quotes can be found in books, movies, speeches, or even conversations with your peers. I found that writing down my favorite quotes is very comforting and being able to refer back quotes that inspire me, has been such an uplifting experience.

Creating a quote page in your journal can offer several benefits that can include :

  1. Inspiration and motivation: Writing down quotes that resonate with me inspires me and helps me stay motivated to keep a positive mindset.
  2. Reduce stress: Journaling as a whole reduces my stress and is very therapeutic for me. Reflecting on quotes provides me with a sense of comfort especially when I feel overwhelmed or stressed.
  3. Memory enhancement: I also use this practice as a way to challenge my memory. Writing down these quotes allows me to revisit and retain the information.
  4. Personal growth: this activity helps me to keep track of my personal growth as a partner, mother, daughter, and friend. Writing down quotes has also helped to remind me of the principles I want to apply in my own life.
  5. Creativity boost:  creating a quote page sparks my creativity. Seeing the inspirational words helps to inspire new creative ideas, and encourages me to expand my way of thinking.

The reasons for creating a quote page may vary however, as long as you remember to have fun you’re on the right track!

How to design your quote page:

The design of your quote page is totally up to you. I decorated my quote page in collage format. I chose this method because I wanted to keep things fun and informal. It is important for me to have this space feel like my own and I didn’t want to create rigid barriers (such as columns, or bullet points) that could possibly make me feel obligated to “complete” this activity. My love for literature and quotes is a lifelong journey and I plan to document this process for quite some time.

I have chosen to highlight the following:

  • quotes from my favorite books
  • reading quotes
  • nature quotes
  • movie/tv show quotes
  • random inspirational quotes

In my quote collage I used mixed media that included my personal artwork, stickers and other materials such as scrap paper and washi tape.

Remember, there is no right or wrong way to create a quote page. This activity can help to create a meaningful way to document your favorite quotes and serve as a source of inspiration and reflection over time! Over all, creating this page can give you a way to express yourself and your creativity through writing, art and design.
