New Year Quote Page Tutorial for your Bullet Journal!

New Year Quote Page Tutorial for your Bullet Journal!

Hello, friends! Elizabeth here from Plant Based Bride on YouTube and @elizabethturn on Instagram. I'm excited to be back again with another blog post, sharing the steps to make this quote page for the New Year! 2020 hasn't turned out the way any of us expected, and I find it helps me to look forward to 2021 and all the potential it holds. When I saw this quote it filled me with such hope that I knew I had to turn it into a quote page. I hope it makes you feel more hopeful, too! I've chosen to go over everything with gold watercolour (because New Years and gilded things go together so well in my mind) but you can also use a golden yellow pen (I would recommend the yellow Acrylograph from the Jewel Set) to get a very similar effect! Without further ado, let's jump in :) SUPPLIES Bullet Journal - I’m using the Archer & Olive B5 Night Sky Neopolitan Notebook Pencil and Eraser Golden Yellow Marker or Pen - I'm using the yellow Acrylograph Pen from the Jewel Selection (both 0.7mm and 3mm) Gold Watercolour (optional) - I'm using the FineTec Pearlescent Watercolour in Arabic Gold STEP ONE: SKETCH Start with a loose sketch of your spread in pencil to get a feel for the layout and spacing in your bullet journal.  This is your chance to experiment with fonts and flourishes! STEP TWO: OUTLINE YOUR QUOTE Using your golden yellow marker or pen, outline the sketch of your numbers.  I'd recommend using the finer nib 0.7mm Acrylograph for this step for more precision.  Next, use the same fine nib pen to outline the letters. STEP THREE: FILL IN YOUR QUOTE Use your 0.7mm nib pen to fill in narrow areas, and 3mm nib pen to fill in larger areas. First the numbers... ...and then the letters. STEP FOUR: ADD FLOURISHES I decided to add a combination of swirls and little fireworks, connected to my letters. I also added swirls to the corners of the page.  You could finish here with a second layer on any areas that aren't quite opaque, or you can finish with the optional final step. *OPTIONAL FINAL STEP*: ADD GOLD WATERCOLOUR If you'd like to add extra extra shine, consider using gold watercolours on top of your dried gold marker or pen!   And that's it! I'd love to see your version of this quote page if you decide to recreate it. Tag me on Instagram @elizabethturn so I can see it!
