DIY Three Holiday Gift Tags

by Adrienne Castleton 13 Dec 2019 0 Comments

Hello friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here to share three ways to create your own gift tags for the holiday season! I'll be using the Archer and Olive Watercolor Notebook and gel pens to create these tags. Let's get started!

Materials you'll need:

Prepping your page:

The first step is to draw three rectangles on your page in your Archer and Olive watercolor notebook using a pencil and ruler. Having the grid on the page makes measuring and drawing out the rectangles SUPER easy and it's a total time saver!

Gift Tag 1:

For the first gift tag I used a red and two shades of green gel pens. Start with the darker green and draw a leafy border all around the inside of the rectangle. Then use the lighter green to draw in the center lines of each of the leaves. Last, I used the red gel pen to draw small berries around the leaf border to give it a festive feel!

Gift Tag 2:

The second gift tag I only used a red gel pen. On each of the four corners I drew vines coming out of each of the corners. Then I filled out the vines by drawing leaves. I tried to make each side symmetrical to the other, but don't feel like you have to! I love the simplicity of this gift tag and the bold pop of red color!

Gift Tag 3:

This last gift tag I used a silver and gold gel pen to give it a classic feel! I drew a rectangle border inside the rectangle with the silver gel pen. Again, having the grid makes this SUPER easy and helps to create straight lines! Then I used the gold gel pen to draw dots in each of the corners and then drew vines with leaves at the top and bottom of the tag, filling in the leaves. I love how the gold and silver play off each other in this tag!

The last step is to write the "To" and "From" on each of the gift tags and then cut them out using scissors!
