Creating Morning Routine In Your Bullet Journal

by Guest Blogger 25 Apr 2021 0 Comments

Hey guys, Masha here from Masha Plans.

Today we’ll be talking about creating a morning routine: how to choose the right things, why you need one, and of course, I’ll be sharing my own morning routine page.

Also if you need one, I have a post with my evening routine as well, check it here.

WHY YOU NEED A MORNING ROUTINE

I can talk for hours about the benefits of having a routine, but that’s not what we are here for. Let me just give you a few reasons why the morning routine is an absolutely must-have

  • Increase productivity

This is the big one. When you wake up and you already know what you will be doing you set yourself up for being productive and getting things done.

  • Reduce stress levels

Your morning routine will allow you to start every morning on a positive note. And believe me! Having a quiet and good morning will help you feel better the entire day, and ready to face whatever life throws at you.

  • Control your day

I don’t know about you, but feeling in control is something I really love. Now, in these times of pandemic, when things just happen, having a little control over some or all things really helps to stay grounded and feel less helpless.

CREATING A PERFECT ROUTINE

I hope that by now you’re totally convinced that you need a morning routine, so here are a few tips on how to create a perfect one for yourself!

  • Don’t overcomplicate

This is always my tip number one. When we start something new, it’s easy to try making it perfect and include in the routine ALL the things you always wanted to do. But don’t overcomplicate it - small steps are the key.

  • Take it easy

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Your morning routine might need some tweaking, something might not work - this is normal. Don’t be hard on yourself and be fluid with following the routine.

I have here a few ideas on what you might want to consider when setting up your routine. You should consider adding something that covers each of these 4 areas.

  • Mental

Do something for your mind, set it properly to have a good day. Some options include: set your daily goals, read something, plan your day.

  • Emotional

Give yourself a boost of positivity with something that makes you happy. Huge your puppy, talk to your loved one.

  • Physical

Of course, you should always care about your physical state as well. Do a small yoga session, drink a glass of water, have a good breakfast. Physical health leads to mental health as well, so don’t forget about this side either.

  • Spiritual

Do something for your soul, set your spirit in the right way. Try meditation, praying or maybe just having your morning coffee in your backyard and reconnecting with nature.

SUPPLIES

Ok it’s time to move to my latest morning routine spread and here are the supplies I used to create it.

This time, I’m using my everyday planning BuJo, which is a white journal from the Pride collection. I fell in love with this journal the moment I saw it!

It is, of course, well protected by an Archer and Olive sparkly cover.

If you decide to get anything from Archer and Olive stock by the way, be sure to use my code MASHA10 to get 10% off your order.

For colors, I went with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens that I’m happy to say I’ve been using more often lately.

MORNING ROUTINE SPREAD

Finally, here is my latest morning routine spread. I must admit that I’ve been playing a lot with my morning routines and it’s really a page that changes a lot.

I had a morning routine for February (you saw it above) and it worked great, but I had to tweak it and create a different one in March and now in April it has a completely new look.

As you may or may not know, I finally got myself a puppy in March, the cutesy little Frenchie called Bruce, so I had to change everything in my day just to fit this little guy. And I couldn’t be happier!

That’s why as you can see morning routine is not just about me, but about the little guy as well.
