Hello! I’m Amanda (@amandaswork) and I am here to show you how I use my planner. It might be a little bit different than how you use yours, but it may give you some new ideas and a new perspective. Here is how you can use hidden journaling to give your planner pages a revamp, and extend their use a little bit more.
Here are the supplies that I will be using:

Let’s get started!
During the week I use my planner like normal. I fill up each day with my tasks, I plan out my life on the pages. During the week my planner’s only job is to keep me organized. As the week goes on, I cross things off of my list. I consider it a bit plain, but it is functional. So when the week is done, I turn the weekly spread into an art journal page!
I started implementing hidden journaling in my planner, and this lets me revamp and recycle my pages, and give them life one more time! And after the year is up I get a beautiful planner filled with art! Some weeks I cover everything up, some days I only cover up a little bit. It’s just another way to add creativity to my life. And to make sure I get full use out of my journal.
I think it’s a great way to recap your week, you can make pages that reflect your emotions that you experienced, you can junk journal, you could simply just write all over the page. It’s just another way to add journaling to your life, especially if you don't have the capacity to do so in a whole other journal.
Hidden journaling really helped me, because I tend to write with fear that others might read or judge what I am going to say. But when I do pages like this I am able to control what is revealed and what is covered up. You truly have control over your work, it is a way to release your emotions without feeling like someone might see it.
Once again this type of journaling might not be for everyone, but it can be used in many different ways. You might want to add things like pockets or fabric, or you can seal a page permanently, it is all up to you.
Another way to do this if you want to preserve the original writing you have, because sometimes people have really beautiful planner pages, you can always hidden journal by covering up with a piece of paper, do some work on top of page, layering can add an additional experience without ruining the work that you did underneath.
It is a great way to use collage paper or scraps, save them and use them when you need to complete a quick page!
Sometimes I just doodle quickly and call it, you can decide how much time you are able to put into it each week.
By doing a little bit of extra creative work each week, at the end of the year you will have a beautiful filled up planner with many colourful pages that you will be able to look back on and enjoy!
Check out this video if you want to see how I made these pages:
Don’t worry about making mistakes, that is part of the fun!
If you want to try hidden journaling but don’t want to spend a lot of time doing it, here is a page that you can print out and paste in your journal. It is a mind dump page that you can doodle and mess around with!
Remember that your planner only needs to work for you, even if you don’t follow my ideas or use hidden journaling, hopefully you can get some ideas for your own pages!
