Posted by Guest Blogger on

Hello, friends! Elizabeth here from Plant Based Bride on YouTube and @elizabethturn on InstagramI'm excited to be back again with another blog post, sharing the steps to make this New Year's Resolutions spread in your BuJo!

2020 hasn't been the year we wanted it to be, so I'm taking to time to refocus and set intentions for the new year. Try out this quick and simple spread in your own Bullet Journal to set resolutions for 2021!

STEP ONE: SKETCH

Start with a loose sketch of your spread in pencil to get a feel for the layout in your bullet journal.  This is your chance to get placement and spacing figured out!

STEP TWO: HEADER

Using your silver pen or marker add your header at the top of the page.

I started with outlined letters for "new year's" and added a monoline cursive "resolutions" underneath.

STEP THREE: ADD BOXES

Use your ruler and silver pen to create 4 boxes. Mine are 12 by 12 in my B5 size notebook!

They'll look like this:

STEP FOUR: ADD SECTION HEADERS

I decided to separate my resolutions into four categories:

  • Personal
  • Work
  • Relationships
  • Wellness

STEP FIVE: LIST YOUR RESOLUTIONS

Take your time to consider each area of your life and what actionable steps you can take in 2021 to improve it!

Here is how I defined each category to help in my resolution making:

  • Personal (personal growth and hobbies)
  • Work (work or school)
  • Relationships (friends, family, and significant other)
  • Wellness (mental and physical health)

I decided to make three resolutions in each area, but you can make as many or as few as you like (though I'd recommend erring on the side of caution and sticking to fewer resolutions overall for a higher chance of success)!

STEP SIX: ADD DOTS

The final step is just for fun but adds a pretty effect!

Use your silver pen to add dots around the letters of your header leaving a small gap of negative space (this helps with the legibility of your header). Start with dots that are very close together and space them out more and more as you move away. Add spaced out dots all the way down the page to tie everything together!
