Valentine's Day Memory Keeping 5 Ways

Valentine's Day Memory Keeping 5 Ways

Hey, Jess here. Here's a collection of memory keeping spreads that feature Valentine’s Day themes. These bullet journal spreads are perfect way to add a little love to your notebooks this year.

Hey friends, Jess here from @lovejessco on social media. I’m excited to share a collection of memory keeping spreads with you today that feature Valentine’s Day themes. These spreads are the perfect way to add a little love to your notebooks this year. Let’s jump right into Valentine’s Day Memory Keeping 5 Ways!

Each spread I’m featuring has different supplies, but I’m including a basic list below to get your started. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know!

SUPPLIES:

Full Page Photo with Decorative Elements

Our First idea for incorporating Valentine’s Day memory keeping into your journal is using a full page photo with some decorative elements. There’s just something magical about a full page photo in a notebook like this. It really brings the pages to life!

For this spread, I printed a photo of myself from a rare snow day we got in February. It doesn’t snow much here, so it was definitely worth recording the memory! I added a stamped sentiment and included a short bit of journaling on the left page. On the right, I went for the more decorative approach and created a bunch of little hearts. To do this, I placed washi tape onto a piece of white cardstock, then drew hearts on the washi tape and cut them out with a pair of scissors. Before attaching them to the journal, I used ink pads to add a pop of color to the center of the page. Once the hearts were added, I drew some cute little accents to help complete the design. I finished off the right page with a heat embossed sentiment.

Things I Love Spread

Our next spread is a way to document the things you’re loving at the moment. It will be so cool to be able to look back on the things you loved and see how your interests have changed over time!
For this spread, I used some cute stamps to express my interests, but feel free to substitute these for hand drawn illustrations, washi tape, or stickers. I colored the images using Calliograph markers and did a little writing for each ‘thing’ I love.

Valentine ‘This or That’ Spread

Another great way to document your interests is a ‘This or That’ spread. You can swap out any of the items for ones you prefer.

I also created a free printable ‘This or That’ spread that you can download and place directly in your journal. You can download the printable here.

Adding Memories to Weekly Spreads

Many people are already doing weekly spreads in their journals, so this is a great way to add memory keeping without having to create entirely new spreads. You can choose the size of the photos to match your planning needs and style.

For this spread, I used a bunch of adorable elements from the Bows and Boughs themed planning kit. They’re already perfectly coordinated, so it’s super easy to just pick your favorites and place them right into your notebook. I paired these elements with a photo of my son working on his valentines a few years ago. I left some space for journaling about the memory and there’s plenty of room on the opposite page for my partial weekly spread. You can always make the photo smaller if you prefer to fit your entire week on one double page spread.

Date With a Book Spread

Not feeling the whole Valentine’s theme? You can make this spread instead - it still counts as memory keeping. You’re keeping track of how you felt about this book when it came out! I included a photo of an upcoming book that will be released on Valentine’s Day. On the right page, I added details about the book, author, release date, and genre. I also added some journaling options for first thoughts, what I love, what could be better, and my overall review.

If you’re a more visual learner, I created a video so you can follow along with each spread as it comes together. You can watch the video below or head over the Archer & Olive YouTube channel to watch it there. Be sure to watch until the end for a few bonus Valentine’s Day ideas.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me today! I hope you found some inspiration for including Valentine’s Day memory keeping in your journal this year.
