Creating A Wish List In Your Bullet Journal

by Guest Blogger 21 Oct 2020 0 Comments

Hey guys, Masha here from Masha Plans.

Today we will be creating a wish list in your Bullet Journal. It’s a fun spread to create and we will make it both practical and creative.

So get ready to doodle and dream big!

WHY YOU NEED A WISH LIST

A wish list is basically just that - a list of the items that you wish you had.

I believe having a wish list is very powerful. First of all, by deciding on your wishes and putting them on paper you kind of manifest them to the world, pretty much like with a vision board. Believe it or not but is it an important step towards getting what you want.

Secondly - we have tons of things we want all the time. Today it’s one thing, tomorrow it’s another. But are we working towards getting these? When we have some spare money - do we know exactly what we want?

For me usually, the answer is no to both of these questions.

I want a lot of things but I don’t usually purposefully work towards getting them, and when I have the money, I’m not sure I always pick the items I wanted or needed the most.

But! All of this can be solved with a wish list, where you know exactly what you want and with the list, we are making today - you’ll also have a plan and will start working on getting all these things.

And finally - it’s kind of just a fun spread to add to your Bullet Journal. With the quarantine upon us after all what else is there to do than wish and dream.

Ok, let’s get planning!

SUPPLIES

For supplies, I went with my A5 Archer and Olive journal. This is a pretty old design but I just love it so much, especially the color.

As for pens, I finally received my Acrylograph Pens so I’ve been using those lately. My favorite set so far is the tropical one, so this is the one you’ll see the most.

Instead of fineliners, I decided to use a 0.7 mm tip black acrylograph pen that comes from the primary set. Very happy with it and with how rich the ink is.

WISH LIST PART 1

I divided our wish list into two parts since I want it to be a creative doodly one, but also one with a plan.

Part one of the wish list is basically your wish brain dump, the place for you to write down everything you want, all that comes to your mind.

To make it a bit more fun, I divided my list into categories, depending on the things I want the most for me.

The categories I chose are stationery (of course!), clothes, makeup, and tech. So I divided my spread into these 4 parts and decorated each with doodles from the category.

You can just do a huge list without categorizing, maybe add some random doodles here and there - up to you.

The point here is to put on paper all you want.

Once you’re done with that, we are moving to part 2.

WISH LIST PART 2

Part two of the wish list is to make a plan.

This is where you’ll pick several things that are a priority for you from your wishlist brain dump and make a plan on how to achieve them.

I created a table with these columns - item, price, how, by when. Basically, you choose what items you’ll be working on and find their prices, then create a plan on what you can do to save money and add a deadline for yourself.

It really can be pretty easy if you put your mind into it. Just have your coffee at home instead of Starbucks and you’ll see how much money you’ll have to get a treat for yourself from your wishlist.

Creating a plan is the first step towards achieving your goals, and the same can be said about a wish list. Believe me, it will be such a powerful thing to see your list getting smaller and smaller and you keeping crossing things out as attained.
